David Swoboda, lpc
Therapist
The hardest thing is showing up. I believe that this is very much the case when entering therapy.
My hope is that I can create a welcoming and compassionate environment where my clients feel comfortable being open and vulnerable.
My approach:
I see therapy as a collaborative process between client and therapist. We will work together to identify realistic, achievable goals and strategies to reach them. The therapist’s role is to help facilitate change in a supportive and caring manner. I use a combination of interventions taken from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
My background:
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology at UW-Milwaukee and earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Marquette. I spent most of my career at Rogers Behavioral Health using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help patients with depression and anxiety. I have also worked in an inner-city mental health clinic and in a private practice counseling center.
I was born in the Madison area and have been living in the Greater Milwaukee Area ever since attending UW-Milwaukee. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children.
I am excited to meet you!
When you're ready, I’m here.
