Life can be complicated. The decision to come to therapy can be a hard one to make, but it’s one that is an important step for your future.

Therapy can help you make complicated decisions simpler and reinforce your successes. Often, it’s a matter of helping you unlock the solution that is waiting inside you. Many successful people struggle with doing everything “perfectly”, and it can be exhausting. Therapy provides an opportunity to build self-care habits and learn new ways to cope, and taking this time for yourself will generally have a positive effect on your relationships as well.

My approach:

My approach is to talk with you about your current situation and find out your goals. We will work together to build your coping strategies for you to enjoy your life more fully. Therapy will be at your pace. Often people have success in a short amount of time, while others prefer to work on things more slowly over time. Once life is better, it’s common for people to return for “tune-ups” now and again.

My background:

I received my Bachelor of Arts from UW-Madison, then received my Master of Science degree from UW-Whitewater. After this, I earned my license and designation as a Wisconsin Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Additionally, I am a certified Prepare / Enrich Facilitator. I have worked with adults experiencing almost every challenge and diagnosis, but most frequently with adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I frequently use behavioral activation, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, bibliotherapy, and systems therapy. My strength as a therapist is helping my clients determine what their own strengths are in order to move through the more difficult parts of their lives. I have years of experience helping people make changes in their lives.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I’ve experienced life in rural Wisconsin as well as the Milwaukee metropolitan area, where I have lived for over 20 years. During my free time, I like to spend time with my three adult daughters and husband. My own self-care includes enjoying dog training, reading, and movies.

Let me help you simplify and feel more in charge of your life’s journey.

When you're ready, I’m here.
